With spring on its way and the changing of the clocks, it's always a good idea to "spring clean" and freshen up things a bit. This phrase means many different things to many people. Some like to take on projects like cleaning out your closets, others like to plant and garden, some like to give a new look to the backyard or patio and some will donate their items to local churches, Goodwill stores and other places. Some may even have a garage sale or put items up on a virtual site like Poshmark for a little extra spending cash. For myself, I've decided to add a spring wreath to add a pop of color to the front door and to take on a small project like the main bathroom. By sprucing it up, i'll give it a modern look. Some new paint and some other inexpensive ideas will transfer this pink & blue 70's chalet styled bathroom into a touch of livable modernness. The two-day trip from San Francisco up to Ocean Shores was a rain-filled trip but at 4:45 pm we arrived at Halcyon Estates. 🏡 Rain was in store for the next couple of days. With no furniture or appliances in store for the next couple of days, it would give me time to go into town and rent a carpet cleaner and call a locksmith to change the locks. The house has hot & cold running water and electricity, both which were ordered back in December. With not much available light left for the day, thank god the house has interior lighting in the kitchen, the den, the front porch, the outside veranda, the living room, the master bedroom and both bathrooms. So for now, most of the basics have been previously taken care of.
A little bit of history - The City of Ocean Shores occupies the Point Brown peninsula on the Washington coast. Long before the arrival of European explorers and settlers, the peninsula was used by the various local tribes for trading and other purposes. The Chinook, Chehalis, and Quinault tribes used the area, as well as others that now make up the Quinault Indian Nation. As the development grew, the Ginny Simms Restaurant and Nightclub brought in the Hollywood set. In fact, on its opening night, chartered planes flew up a whole contingent of Hollywood stars, and 11,000 people turned out at Bowerman Basin to see the celebrities. Pat Boone became a local resident in 1967 as a stockholder in Ocean Shores Estates Incorporated, and promotion of the development was sped along by the Celebrity Golf tournaments hosted by Boone.[5] By 1969, Ocean Shores was declared the "richest little city" per capita in the country,[6] with an assessed valuation of $35 million and 900 permanent residents. The following year the city was incorporated and a planning commission was formed to zone the city and codify streets. The city's first school opened in 1971 and road paving began in earnest. From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia Holiday's in San Francisco proved to be spot on. The best Christmas present so far is this unique 1393 square foot estate with over 5 levels and nestled in Ocean Shores. The phone call came in while I was having lunch along the warf. "The house is yours and you can pick up the keys any day after December 31, 2019". Immediately following listening to the call, I walked back to my hotel room and took it all in while soaking in a luxurious bubble bath. Soon I would be living my dream and renovating the long awaited Halcyon Estates. The anticipation, the constant faxing of items and trips to the FedEx store, the numerous Realtor calls, and many trips to the bank... it all paid off. Yay! I'm a first time home owner!
BRAND NEW CHAPTERIn September of 2018, a life changing event happened which led me to a small beach town called Ocean Shores located in the state of Washington - My name is Halcyon and this is my newest adventure. I'm an aerial cameraman with a love of architecture. Welcome to Halcyon Loftstyle in the Pacific Northwest. This story backdates to 2018 but will shortly catch everyone one up. During the months of November & December anxiously awaiting for escrow to close, there was obviously some down time for me so I decided to stay in the San Francisco Bay area. While in San Francisco I was able to catch up on some story ideas for my tv show Halcyon Lifestyle. Meanwhile - I'm sending paperwork back and fourth for my new investment which i had fell in love with months before. Soon I will be moving even more north than San Francisco and excited about the newest chapter. Here in the city for the next months until escrow closes - December 30, 2019.
